I agree that RapidInsight is really a product to look forward to, not only from aforementioned article perspective but also from a perspective of fresh face to the existing systems. Using groovy has provided RI a unique edge from agile implementation perspective. Have you folks considered integration with F/OSS projects like Cacti, Ganglia, Nagios, WeatherMap, etc? It also provides a version of the UI designed for iPhone specifically. We've chosen to develop a web based app for iPhone rather than native app so that the interface can easily be customized, integrated with other mgmt tools etc. If you'd like the iPhone UI to Netcool, you can go to http://www.ifountain.com/rapidinsight/demo (need an account on the website but I'll also put a screencast soon) A version of the UI for Blackberry is also in the works.. As for integrated ISM functionality, a lot of the underlying infrastructure is already available, and can be done via scripts.
